Gypsea Tails Policies & Terms and Conditions 2026
At Gypsea Tails, our priority is ensuring the safety, happiness, and well-being of every Dog in our care. By booking our services, you agree to the following terms and conditions, designed to create the best possible experience for your Dog and our team.
General Policies
Health & Well-Being: Dogs must be in good health, free from contagious illnesses, and on a regular flea, tick, and worm prevention program. We reserve the right to refuse service if your Dog appears unwell.
Eligibility for Discounts: Effective 1 July 2026, dogs aged 18 months to 2 years (breed dependent) must be desexed to qualify for discounted services. Dogs not desexed remain eligible for services at full price.
Behaviour: Dogs must not display aggressive behaviour (biting, lunging, unprovoked attacks) toward people or other Dogs. A meet-and-greet assessment may be required.
Bookings: Bookings are confirmed only once we receive a completed your “New Client Questionnaire”. We reserve the right to decline bookings if we feel your Dog isn’t a good fit for the service.
New Clients: You will receive a New Client Onboarding Questionnaire to help us better understand your Dogs individual needs.
Payments & Cancellations
Payment Terms: All prices include GST and are payable via our online booking system. Payment is due at time of booking to secure your Dog's spot.
Cancellations: We require a minimum of 72 hours’ notice for cancellations. Late cancellations or no-shows will result in a fee.
Refunds: Refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis and are not guaranteed for cancellations made outside the policy.
Liability
While we take every precaution to ensure your Dog’s safety, Gypsea Tails is not liable for any injury, illness, or unforeseen incidents that may occur during their time with us.
By booking, you acknowledge that Dogs will interact with other Dogs and engage in activities that carry inherent risks.
By booking our services, you authorise Gypsea Tails to seek veterinary treatment and transport your Dog as deemed necessary in an emergency.
Owners must provide an emergency contact who is authorised to make decisions if the owner is unreachable.
INDEMNIFICATION
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Gypsea Tails, its owners, employees, and contractors from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
- Your Dog's behaviour, including biting, attacking, or injuring other Dogs, people, or property
- Your failure to disclose known behavioural or health issues
- Your Dog's escape or running away during our care
- Any breach of these terms and conditions by you
This means: If your Dog causes damage or injury, you are responsible - not us.
Owners must disclose all known behavioural issues, medical conditions, dietary sensitivities, and recent incidents prior to booking. Failure to disclose may result in immediate termination of services without refund.
Daycare & Adventure Groups
Pick-Up & Drop-Off: Drop-off and pick-up times must be adhered to. Late pick-ups will incur an additional fee of $50.
Group Dynamics: To maintain a positive experience, Dogs in group settings must demonstrate good socialisation skills. If your Dog requires additional support, we’ll discuss options for tailored care.
Gypsea Tails is not responsible for injuries sustained by a Dog as a result of normal play, interaction, or movement unless caused by proven negligence.
Safety First: Dogs will always be supervised during adventures, and activities are tailored to their energy levels and abilities.
Overnight Care – What Helps Dogs Thrive Here
Trial Sleepover: Some Dogs may require a trial stay or assessment session prior to overnight care to ensure suitability and wellbeing
Health Emergencies: In the unlikely event of an emergency, we’ll contact you immediately. If urgent care is needed, we’ll take your Dog to the nearest veterinarian.
Puppy Deposits: A $200 puppy deposit is required for Dogs under 18 months of age. This deposit helps cover the additional care, supervision, training reinforcement, and potential accidents that can occur during overnight stays with young dogs.
Feeding & Belongings
Owners must provide:
Their Dog’s regular food. If food is not provided we charge $15 per meal (all home made nourishing food)
Any required supplements or medication
Raw-fed Dogs must have meals clearly portioned and labelled.
Updates & Content
Owners receive photo/video updates during their Dog’s stay via WhatsApp.
Content may be shared on Gypsea Tails socials unless opted out in writing.
Updates are not guaranteed at set times (we prioritise the Dogs over phones)
Drop-off, Pick-up & Extensions
Drop-off and pick-up times must be pre-arranged.
Late pick-ups may incur additional fees.
Extensions are subject to availability and the Dog’s wellbeing
Our Right to Advocate for the Dog
If a Dog is not coping, we will contact the owner immediately.
We may recommend:
Early collection
A different care format
Additional support (e.g. somatic sessions)
All decisions are made in the Dog’s best interest.
force Majeure
Gypsea Tails is not liable for service disruption due to events beyond our control, including extreme weather, natural disasters, or emergencies.
Additional Notes
Gypsea Tails reserves the right to amend these terms with 30 days notice. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of updated terms.
